Indications

Administration

If within 6 months before intended w/ onset of activity, stop treatment and seek immediate medical attention.

Contraindications

Do not take w/ penicillin or cephalosporin time of use if w/ hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporin. Do not use if you are allergic to metronidazole or similar antibiotics. Do not use if you have or have had a periodontal disease in the last 6 months. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. - If pregnant or breastfeeding - If you are allergic to metronidazole. - In children under 12 years of age. - If pregnant or breastfeeding. - In patients receiving prolonged therapy. - If on systemic treatment for a period of 3 or more months as a secondary bacterial or viral disease. - if on prolonged therapy stop treatment. Do not take w/ oral contraceptive pill. If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor for more details. - In patients with a known tendency towards cardiovascular disease. - In patients with a prior history of hypersensitivity to doxycycline. Do not take tetracyclines within 2 hours before or 4 hours after food. If taken within 60 minutes of a light meal, doxycycline may be absorbed. Do not take more than the recommended dose. If no alternative food is available, take w/ no dairy or calcium. - In patients with a history of urinary tract infection. In patients with a known tendency towards urinary tract infection. If you are taking antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract, do not take tetracyclines within 2 hours before or 4 hours after food. Do not take tetracyclines after the full course of treatment. Missed dose or broken months doxycycline may be taken as needed, without first consulting your doctor.
